I'm Steve — a producer and mix/mastering engineer based at our studio in Shotley Gate, on the Shotley Peninsula in Suffolk. I work with independent artists across rock, metal, punk, and indie, offering support throughout the production process. Whether you're looking to record, add overdubs, or get your tracks mixed and mastered for release, the studio provides a focused, friendly, creative space to bring your music to life.

Recording

Our recording studio is designed for bands and artists who want to capture high-quality performances in a comfortable, well-equipped space. With multiple rooms connected by video link, you can record live as a group or isolate individual parts.

We provide a range of professional microphones, instruments, and a top-tier drum kit — all ready for you to use. Whether you're tracking vocals, drums, guitars, or full-band sessions, you'll have the tools you need to create something great.

Rehearsal

Our rehearsal space offers a focused, headphone-only environment ideal for bands, writers, and producers. Each player gets a personal headphone mix, so you can hear everything clearly without the need for loud amps or acoustic drums.

You can also record your sessions to review or mix later. The room is fully equipped with electronic drums, pre-amps with speaker emulation, mics, and stands. Just bring your instruments and you're ready to go.

"Our band EMF has had a number of recording sessions at Silent Stage over the past few months.  This has included final vocals, guitar overdubs and full tracks with follow-on mixing and mastering.  Steve is great to work with and let’s you get on with what you want to do while guiding you to get the best outcomes. His set-up works well with a separate drum room linked to the main studio via both audio and video links.  He also has a great set of equipment if you want to just turn-up and play.  There’s plenty of space to all record/perform together to get that live feel and then listen back.  It’s also in a great location on the Shotley Peninsula just outside of Ipswich … with a river view just outside his front door, it’s also a nice place to wander around and have a pint the local just a few minutes’ walk away."
